A group of ten sentenced of cyber-bullying against Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has found guilty ten people for engaging in the online harassment of Brigitte Macron, the spouse of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The accused individuals faced charges of spreading untruths regarding her gender and sexual orientation, in addition to posting defamatory statements about the couple's significant age difference.
The court issued suspended jail terms of a maximum of eight months to the defendants. The detailed judgment has yet to be released.
A persistent unfounded claim alleging that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has existed since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This recent ruling in France comes as the Macrons engaging in a legal action for defamation in the US against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced similar conspiracy theories about the Brigitte Macron's gender.
Their legal filing contends that Owens brushed aside all credible evidence contradicting her allegations opting to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.
Owens has often echoed these assertions on her podcast and social media channels, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her conviction that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her future husband when she was a teacher at his secondary school.
The couple married in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was 54.
